Although I realize many others thinks of raccoons as pesky nuisance animals, I think they are one of the most photogenic animals out there, and I love to take pictures of them. Their sweet faces are irresistible, and they always look like they've been caught doing something they shouldn't be doing. This was a mama with four babies that I spent about two hours with on a warm August morning in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The family had just ventured down from the big tree that is their cozy home and were on their way to find something to eat when she looked up at me.

Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
