Out very early on a summer morning in late June in hopes of finding some barn scenes to photograph in the perfect morning light, I passed a pasture and noticed that the residents there were not the usual cows that I see all of the time. Right away I decided to turn around and go back to see if I could find a place to pull off so that I could get a closer look. As I walked over to the fence and look down the hill, this is what I saw. I almost laughed out loud because it was so funny that they all had exactly the same expression on their faces. Brahman cattle are unique in appearance with their floppy ears, sagging skin, and humps on their backs. Research tells me that they are very shy and curious, and the few minutes that I spent with them verified both traits. They kept their distance and just continued to stare at me the entire time.
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
