Description
A visit to the Segrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain takes substantial time to take it all in because there is so much to see and experience. The unfinished Roman Catholic basilica, now under construction for 130 years and designed by Spanish architect Antonia Gaude, is a marvel in so many ways. This image was taken as I exited the passion facade door and depicts one of 100 sculptures by Catalan sculptor Josep Maria Subirachs. I thought it was great, although he received much criticism for many of the figures due to the anguish on the faces of the sculptures. I really liked the perspective I had looking up at the anguished face against the sky and angles of the building. I honestly don't know if this piece has a name and I was unable to find any information, so I have entitled it "Man of Sorrows" in this photograph.
