Artist's Description
On a recent trip to Africa, I was thrilled to see so many exotic, colorful birds in addition to the amazing wildlife of this beautiful continent. Out of all the birds I saw, this colorful lilac breasted roller was my favorite. When I spotted the first one, I was thrilled because it was so different with its combination of unusual colors. They nest in pairs in holes of trees and are fierce protectors of their territory. It was shots like this one that made me glad I hauled that cumbersome, heavy wildlife lens halfway around the world!
About Marcy Wielfaert

Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer! My best days are spent in the mountains enjoying God's amazing creation and trying to capture all things nature with my camera. It gives me great joy to use this medium to share the intricacies of...
