Description
So what's the first thing thing you think of when you hear the word Verona? For me, it was always "Romeo and Juliet." The movie of the Shakespearean tragedy was out when I was in high school, and being the romantic I am, I loved it. And then in college as an English major, I took a Shakespeare course and enjoyed the play in a completely different way. Therefore, as I walked the streets of Verona when my husband and I visited Italy, I noticed many, many balconies overlooking the narrow cobblestone streets, and I took pictures of several. This is the one that I deem closest to what Juliet's famous balcony might have looked like. With its open shutters and picturesque placement of windows, doors, and draping greenery, surely the Capulets lived here...
