Description
While driving through the countryside of Washington, I noticed this old grain elevator and knew that I would have to return to the spot to get some photos before we left the area to head back to our home in Tennessee. Since the sky wasn't the best and it wasn't good light when I discovered this rural treasure, I made the decision to come back under better conditions for a good photograph. Before we knew it, our last night was upon us, so we made our way out to Uniontown to capture this image. I hadn't even thought about the fact that this particular elevator was right at the edge of a very busy highway and cars were whizzing by me at 75-80 miles per hour causing a lot of blowing weeds and dust that made the task more difficult. Many drivers also honked loudly as if to let me know that I needed to move on. At any rate, I persevered and ended up getting the picture I had in mind. I love the old charm of this building, the texture, and the one bright red piece of farm equipment in the bottom right.
