Why do I keep taking pictures of great blue herons? I have thousands that I've taken over the last four years, but when I see a heron nearby I just can't resist. This one was spotted near sunset in Rustico, a small fishing village on Prince Edward Island. My husband and I watched her for 30 minutes or so, hopping from rock to rock, and peering through cracks and crevices for the perfect illusive dinner. Even on this night, I took hundreds of shots of this active hunter, later wondering why it can't be enough for me to just enjoy watching without adding to my stash of photos. Oh well, hopelessly addicted is my only answer!
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
