I always love it when the rays of the sun are so visible stretching down from the heavens to earth! Often you're able to see and enjoy this touch of heaven with the natural eye, but unable to capture with the lens. On this hot summer day in Cades Cove, the "God rays" were so vivid that I had no trouble getting several shots of them in different locations throughout the Cove. This one, taken overlooking a broad meadow at the base of the mountains with lingering fog still in view, is one of my favorites from that memorable day.
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
