Description
Nestled in the hills of Bavarian Germany, Linderhof Palace was the third and smallest palace built by King Ludwig II, king of Bavaria from 1864 until his death in 1886. It doesn't take very long when visiting Linderhof to see that he was someone who loved opulence in every form. The palace was patterned after the Palace of Versailles that belonged to King Louis XIV, Ludwig's idol, including a lot of glitter, gold, and mirrors. In addition to the palace itself, there are several gardens to enjoy on every side of the palace itself. This image was taken from across the reflecting pool of the front formal gardens with the actual palace just behind the fountain.
