It was our last morning in Africa, and we found ourselves on an early, short game drive before heading to the airport. The destination was Chobe National Park, and I was excited to get one last chance to find a leopard, the only animal that we still hadn't seen yet. Unfortunately, the illusive leopard was not to be discovered that morning, but we did see elephants, giraffes, baboons, exotic birds, warthogs, and many other animals. However, my favorite image of the day was this dead tree that I shot right at the end of the drive. The sky was so unique, and I loved the shape of the dead tree. My original photograph has been digitally enhanced to achieve a painterly presentation.

Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
