Description
Amalfi Cathedral, dating back to the 8th and 9th centuries, is a medieval Roman Catholic cathedral in the resort coastal town by the same name and is located midway on one of the most world famous scenic drives along the coast of Italy bordered by the Mediterranean Sea. Unlike any other of the cathedrals I have seen, the influence of majolica tile, a local specialty used abundantly in the construction of this masterpiece, gives great detail and color to the facade. This shot features a closer up perspective in order to show the design and beauty of these tiles. Fortunately, the perfect sky of this late May day made a perfect background to showcase this beautiful image.
