Description
Visiting Montana in the middle of the summer was an enlightening experience. The first thing I learned was why this beautiful state is known as "big sky country." Every afternoon during the 10 days we visited, the sky put on a show. It could be completely clear up until early afternoon, and then the skies would either fill with gorgeous cumulus clouds that made this photographer extremely happy, or it would darken and look very stormy, which was also fine with me! I'm not sure if this was an unusual ten day period or if that is the norm, but I truly loved and looked forward to our sky show each day. On this day, the sky looked quite scary for an hour or so, but we didn't actually have rain, just a lot of strong wind. I happened to be passing by this lovely farm just at the perfect time to capture the drama.
