Description
It was an idyllic spring morning when we visited Bayeaux, France in the Normandy region. The charming town of Bayeaux has not forgotten the American liberation during World War II, and there are American flags flying throughout the streets of the downtown area. Bayeaux is the home of a beautiful cathedral, and our tour of the architectural masterpiece was especially memorable with the perfect golden light of morning streaming through the stained glass windows. Very near the cathedral, as we were walking back to our bus, we passed this charming 16 century mill, an unexpected bonus that certainly made our stop here complete. I loved the aged stone walls with the waterwheel that were topped off with typical French window boxes of blooming flowers. That wonderful light peeked out from the corner of the mill providing contrast with the shaded wall. This was the last thing we saw before boarding the bus and moving on, so I was left with a very positive impression of enchanting Bayeaux.
