Description
Auxerre Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church located in Auxerre, Burgundy, France. The cathedral is dedicated to Saint Stephen, and is known for its large stained glass windows. Most of the Burgundian Gothic cathedral was built between 1215 and 1233, above an 11th-century crypt. I have many wonderful memories of the day I took this picture. My son and I were in France together. He had asked if I would like to accompany him on a research trip, and, of course, I jumped at the chance! During the ten day period that we were there, I was alone due to the fact that my professor son was obligated to be in the library from opening until closing each day in order to accomplish his mission. On this day, however, our last one in France, we spent the entire day together following our noses and exploring the region. As he is also a photographer, we enjoyed taking pictures together, a treat very rare these days. So when I look at the images from that day, they always bring a smile to my face!
