Unusual windows and doors have a way of ALWAYS grabbing my attention and demanding that I take their picture! My husband doesn't understand this obsession, although he is also a photographer, and he usually just moseys on along because he knows by now that I'll be detained a few moments as I a take photos of said objects from every conceivable angle. This treasure was seen in Montecatini Alto, a funicular ride away from its companion city, Montecatini Terme. Dating back to medieval times, the tiny hilltop village is quaint and charming while its sister city has a more modern, contemporary vibe and is known for its spas and shopping. They're both wonderful places to visit and have a great location as a home base to launch out and see Tuscany. I couldn't help but love the ancient stone construction with its little tile overhang in addition to the carefully placed flowers and plants setting off this welcoming open door. The fact that the address is simply a simple 1 is a little added detail! (My original photograph has been digitally enhanced to achieve a painterly presentation. This image would make a wonderful art piece for your foyer, hall, or anywhere you have a spot that needs a vertical image with a vibrant pop of color.)
