Unusual windows and doors have a way of ALWAYS grabbing my attention and demanding that I take their picture! My husband doesn't understand this obsession, although he is also a photographer, and he usually just moseys on along because he knows by now that I'll be detained a few moments as I a take photos of said objects from every conceivable angle. This treasure was seen in Montecatini Alto, a funicular ride away from its companion city, Montecatini Terme. Dating back to medieval times, the tiny hilltop village is quaint and charming while its sister city has a more modern, contemporary vibe and is known for its spas and shopping. They're both wonderful places to visit and have a great location as a home base to launch out and see Tuscany. I couldn't help but love the ancient stone construction with its little tile overhang and archway setting off this rich red door. Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures!
