One of the best experiences I had in a long, long time was taking a helicopter ride over Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Fortunately, we had a perfect day and were able to see these magnificent falls from several different vantage points. Earlier in the morning, our group had walked the loop overlooking the falls, but due to excessively heavy mist, we were not able to see or photograph much. Such a different experience from the air! On the Zambezi River, the falls actually form the border between the countries of Zambia and Zimbabwe. This was the only point in the ride that I was able to get the falls from end to end because they are so enormous.
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
