Description
More than once, as my husband and I have traveled in foreign countries with a tour group, we have been amazingly lucky to get the best room in the house as our group checks into our hotel for the night. It's always totally random as the tired travelers stand with their excessive luggage in the lobby waiting impatiently as the tour director goes through the list, calls out your name, and hands over your key. As you hurry to beat the others to the elevator, you wonder with anxious anticipation as to what your room will be like. On the night this image was taken, we were so weary. It had been an incredibly long day of bus travel, and we could hardly wait to just get to our room and crash. As we unlocked the door of this ancient hotel in Delphi, Greece, the room was very dark, and all we could tell was that it was quite small and cramped. Even when we turned on the light, it was still dimly lit and a little disappointing. But as we walked across the room and opened the shuttered doors in order to let in more light, this is what we saw. It was sunset, and our view was incredible! Weariness left our bodies as we hurriedly started digging through our bags to grab our camera and tripods to capture the beauty right outside our balcony. I love it when that happens!
