Description
The African country of Eswatini, formerly known as Swaziland, is a landlocked monarchy known for its wilderness reserves and festivals showcasing the Swazi culture. It is one of the smallest countries in Africa bordering Mozambique to the northeast and stretching all the way down to South Africa. Considered to be a middle income country economically, Eswatini has with an average income of less than $10,000 per capita. While there, we stopped at an outdoor market with a vast array of art by local artisans. Some amazing work was on display with colors of every hue. These large batik-like wall hangings were beautifully done in wonderfully bright colors. This one features the "big five" safari animals...elephant, cape buffalo, lion, rhinoceros, and leopard.
