My husband and I look back on our only night in Salzburg, Austria as one of the most lovely experiences we've ever had on our many travels in Europe. As part of an adventure through Bavaria, Salzburg truly pulled us in to its history, charm, and general ambiance. After dinner, we enjoyed a walk through Mozart Square in center of the old city before wandering through an iron gate and finding ourselves in the most magical place. It turned out that we were in St. Peter's Cemetery with these wonderful steeples and bell towers in every direction. Bells began ringing precisely at 8:00 pm, and continued for 15 minutes with each tower in succession. Definitely a "you had to be there" moment, but I will always cherish that amazing 15 minutes as we paused in the middle of an ancient cemetery to enjoy the bells as evening gathered in on a summer evening. My original photograph has been digitally enhanced to achieve a painterly presentation.
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
