Description
Dating back to the 1840's, The Punch Tavern in London has a storied history that carries with it a wonderful ambiance, so welcome on a blustery winter day in January. In the early days of the tavern, the editorial team of the satirical magazine, "Punch," frequented the establishment prompting a business name change from the original moniker, Crown and Sugar Loaf. Located in the Holborn district of the city on Fleet Street, the pub is a popular hang out and meeting place. I photographed several pub signs during my ten day trip to England's capitol city, and this has to be one of my favorites.
