Description
While visiting Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, it's hard to miss the beautiful pine trees standing so stately and tall throughout the park. So noticeably different than our southern yellow and white pine trees back at home in Tennessee, I loved the thick textured rust colored bark and huge size of these western trees. While at Bear Lake on a unseasonably warm January day, my husband and I enjoyed a lunch picnic underneath the tree pictured here. As we were packing up and about to leave, I looked up and liked the perspective with these gnarly branches and green needles taking on an iridescent green as the bright, noonday sun shone directly on them.
