Description
Viewed from the famous castle of the same name, the medieval city of Stirling, Scotland is charming and scenic. Geographically located between the highlands and the lowlands along the River Forth, Stirling has always served as a strategic city in Scottish history. Visually dominated by Stirling Castle sitting high above the city on a rocky cliff, one of the important landmarks of the city itself is a medieval parish, Church of the Holy Rude, where the infant James VI was anointed King of Scots by the Bishop of Orkney with the service concluding after a sermon by John Knox. Modern Stirling is a center for local government, higher education, tourism, retail, and industry. My original photograph has been digitally enhanced to achieve a painterly presentation of this image.
