Description
The penguins came to Boulders Beach in 1982 and established a year round colony there, quickly becoming a tourist attraction. The African penguins, on the verge of extinction, are only found on the coastlines of South Africa and Namibia. These penguins are under the ultimate care of the Cape Nature Conservation and part of the Table Mountain National Park. From just two breeding pairs in 1982, the colony has grown to around 3,000 birds.
