Description
Cades Cove is known for its bears, but there's plenty more to see while touring this lovely valley that is the jewel of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Deer are fairly plentiful all year around, and I never can resist a shot, especially when they're spotted in the great light of a Tennessee winter morning. This young lady was close to me before I even noticed her, so I was afraid that just the movement of lifting my camera to my eyes might scare her away. She stood still, though, almost as if posing, until I took a few pictures highlighting those perfect "doe eyes" and other great face details. Love the simplicity and clarity of this deer portrait!
