Description
Listed as one of Ireland's top tourist attractions, Kylemore Abby is a Benedictine monastery founded in 1920 for nuns of the Benedictine order who fled Belgium in World War I. My husband and I have been blessed to travel to Ireland twice, and Kylemore Abby was on both itineraries. The Victorian Walled Gardens, pictured in this image, were what drew us back the second time around because on our first visit we spent so much time in the Abby and nearby chapel that we didn't have enough time to see the gardens. On the last visit, our weather was what the Irish like to call a "soft day" with misty fog and dark skies that actually added another dimension to our photography there.
