Description
Truly a jewel of the city of Troyes, France, this beautiful cathedral, which was dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, dates back to the 13th century. It is a prime example of Gothic architecture and was designated as a historic monument of France in 1862. Through the years, Troyes Cathedral has been greatly damaged by several natural disasters including a hurricane, tornado, and two lightening strikes. However, today it remains an inspiring edifice standing tall and visible from many areas of the city with its imposing steeple.
