Excitement was in the air as we climbed into our safari jeeps for our long awaited first game drive before sun up. Not really knowing what to expect, but hoping so much that we would see these wonderful animals that we had traveled so far and so long to see in their natural habitat. It wasn't long before our driver came to a sudden stop and right in front of us was an elephant family...mama, daddy, and baby. Right away mama alerted, raised her head, and flung her ears in the air. Our guide assured us that this was just her initial reaction, and that if we just sat quietly still, in a few moments things would be back to normal and the elephants would not be bothered by our presence. That's exactly what happened, but I was glad that I was ready and got this quick shot as she shook those ears!
