Description
What a pleasure it was to visit the resort town of Cascais, Portugal, which is considered part of the Portuguese Riviera! Local habitation of this area, located at the mouth of the Tagus Estuary, can be traced back to the Paleolithic period according to archaeological data. History also tells us that Cascais was once primarily a fishing and maritime commerce city, but today tourism, sailing, and surfing events give the beautiful city a completely different flavor. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the Lisbon area, Cascais is a delightful experience and a place that should be included on your Portugal itinerary! This colorful glimspe of Americana, proudly displayed at the entrance of a sidewalk cafe, grabbed my attention as we explored the area.
