Description
Now one of the most recognizable buildings in the world, One World Trade Center, also known as Freedom Tower, is the tallest building in New York City, tallest in the United States, and tallest in the western hemisphere. It stands a symbolic 1776 feet high, referencing the year that the Declaration of Independence was signed, making the United States of America a free nation. Built on the site of the original twin towers that were destroyed at the hand of terrorists on September 11, 2001, the architectural masterpiece has become a symbol of freedom through the world. On the bright winter morning that I took this picture, the tower was glowing in the morning light and was especially beautiful against the azure blue sky.
