Description
The African country of Eswatini, formerly known as Swaziland, is a landlocked monarchy known for its wilderness reserves and festivals showcasing the Swazi culture. It is one of the smallest countries in Africa bordering Mozambique to the northeast and stretching all the way down to South Africa. Considered to be a middle income country economically, Eswatini has with an average income of less than $10,000 per capita. While there, we stopped at an outdoor market with a vast array of art by local artisans. Some amazing work was on display with colors of every hue. These batik-style wall hangings were beautifully done in wonderful bright colors. I liked the effect of the layers and lines creating some depth amidst all of the vibrant hues when they were hung all together.
