Description
Nothing better on a hot Tennessee summer day than heading to Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park where you can find a calm creek pond or a boisterous stream and sit along the bank to cool off a bit. Most times I prefer a rushing brook because it adds the audio element of moving water over rocks, and I love that sound. However, on this summer afternoon, I chose this little still pond that is part of Abrams Creek because when the waters are silent, the birds can be enjoyed, and their sweet songs bring music to the mountains. The over arching canopy of trees provides plenty of shade, and it doesn't take too long to feel renewed and refreshed. Nature has a way of doing just that every time I give it a chance!
