Description
Originally constructed over a period of 28 years and yet never finished, Chateau Chambord was built as a hunting lodge for King Francis I along the River Cher in the Loire Valley of France. As the largest chateau in this area, it boasts over 400 rooms and 84 staircases and is a great example of French Renaissance architecture. This was our lunch view as my husband and I sat on the cushy grass and had a picnic off to the side of this exquisitely grand palace. What a memory!
