Just outside of Cape Town, South Africa, the posh, upscale community of Camps Bay provides a needed break from touring and busy schedules on an early May morning. Since our tour director informed us that we basically had the morning off, my husband and I headed out for a leisurely morning of relaxing on the beach and watching local surfers and dogs enjoying the waves. The mountains rising above the town of Camps Bay are referred to as the twelve apostles and provide the backdrop for this image. I loved the gentle light and shallowness of the water providing a nice reflection of the town and the mountains. I'm thinking I'll think back on this morning often when I need to remember an idyllic respite carved out of a busy tour of Africa.
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
