Something about this particular scene in rural southeastern Montana intrigued me as my husband and I drove by on a late afternoon in mid summer. I asked him to turnaround, so that I could look a little more closely at this old, abandoned log home. There was a row of farm implements strategically placed in front of the cabin-like home, almost like an outdoors museum of sorts. It just struck me as curious that although this boarded up house was obviously neglected and forgotten, someone had taken the time to leave things "just so" before they left, wanting passers by to notice that this was once a place where farming was a part of daily life. It made me just a little sad and certainly wondering...
