Description
This is one proud osprey! After circling high above the Tennessee River for about a minute, he/she performed the characteristic upside down pirouette and headed into a straight nosedive to the water with a splash, finally emerging with the prize. There are tthree excellent places near my home to watch these amazing birds of prey in action, Douglas Dam, Melton Hill Dam, and Fort Loudon Dam. I never tire of dropping by one of the Tennessee Valley Authority sites to observe the ospreys and eagles in action.
